Narrative Text - The Ants and Grasshopper

One autumn day, some ants were busy in a field. A grasshopper came along. The grasshopper was playing and singing to its heart’s content. An ant passed by, bearing along with an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.

“What are you doing?” the grasshopper asked.

“I am gathering food and preparing my home for the winter, and I recommend you to do the same.” the ant said.  

“Why bother about winter? We have got plenty food at present. In such beautiful weather, it is better to play.”

But the ant still worked to gather food. The winter came so fast. The snow fell in everywhere and covered the ground. It was very cold. When the winter came grasshopper was hungry, but didn’t have any food. He met some of the ants.

“Please give me some food.” Grasshopper said. “I’m hungry.”

“What did you do last summer?” the ants asked.

“I sang and played.” The grasshopper answered.

"Then, you can sing and play now." said the ants and left the grasshopper.
