Narrative Text - The Tortoise & The hare

In a small forest on the corner of the village, there was an arrogant hare. He liked to boasting how he could run faster than anyone else, and always teasing the tortoise for its slowness.
“You never can get anywhere with those short legs of yours. Look at my long legs! They're so swift no one would dare race me,” said the hare. All of the animals in the forest were tired of hearing the hare’s brag.
One day, the hare met the tortoise, and he said “How slowly you are!” and the tortoise answered “If we were to run a race, I'm sure I would beat you.” The hare laughed hardly and said “What a joke! That short leg could beat me? Are you sure, Mr. Tortoise? You'd better not be too sure!” cautioned the hare.
All the animal gathered in the race. At the signal, the hare leaped foward in a great bound and soon left  the tortoise far behind away. Looking to the back, the hare couldn’t see the tortoise, then he said “Surely I will be the winner. There’s no reason to hurry.” So, as the sun was very warm, the hare took a rest under the tree.  Soon he fell asleep. The little rest stretched into a good long nap.
Meantime, the Tortoise jogged steadily along on the hot, dusty road. So slowly, but surely, and soon he passed the Hare who was still peacefully sleeping. Quietly the Tortoise plodded on nearing the goal.
When the Hare finally woke up, he saw the Tortoise was near the finish line far ahead. The hare chased the tortoise, but it was too late. The tortoise was reaching the finish line. All the animals were cheering happily.
Boastful and careless, the Hare had lost the race. Now he would never again be able to count on his speed.
Moral value of this story is don’t be an arrogant person.
